Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) VP exploration Sean Hillacre talked with Proactive about the company's exploration plans at its Davidson River project in the southwestern Athabasca Basin.
Hillacre shared insights into the use of advanced geophysical surveys, which have identified high-priority drill targets.
The company partnered with Fleet Space Technologies to deploy multi-physics surveys, combining ANT and HVSR passive seismic methods with gravity data to identify alteration halos and structural features associated with uranium mineralization.
"We've got five to six times background uranium values. So we know there's uranium in these systems," Hillacre said.
He explained that the survey results have provided a more detailed understanding of the project area, enabling Standard Uranium to pinpoint key drill locations.
The upcoming drill program, expected to begin in September and run into early October, will target three zones: Warrior, Bronco, and Thunderbird.
These areas were selected based on the company’s strongest drilling results to date, along with supporting geophysical signatures.
Hillacre added that the company is currently undertaking a capital raise to fund the drill campaign, which will involve 8 to 10 holes across two or three survey grids.
Hillacre noted the significance of integrating gravity data with existing electromagnetic conductors and seismic structures.
This approach, he said, creates a "layered" targeting system similar to that used in the discovery of NexGen's Arrow deposit.
