Galliford Try lands place in National Grid's £59bn HVDC framework

Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD) announced it has been appointed to the UK National Grid's new £59 billion High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Framework.

The framework, with a five-year term, supports a major upgrade to the grid to enable net zero and decarbonisation.

"Continuing to grow our core Infrastructure business is a key part of our Sustainable Growth Strategy, and this appointment will see us deliver further civil engineering and construction solutions for the energy sector," chief executive Bill Hocking said.

"We look forward to working with National Grid to play our part in modernising and decarbonising the energy system and building the infrastructure that will enable our country's current and future energy needs."

In the framework, Galliford Try is placed on 'Lot 1 – Converter Civils & Buildings', which has an anticipated value of £9 billion. It is planned that the company will partner with RPS Group to deliver civil engineering and building works for converter stations.

Galliford Try shares were up 5.6p or 1.3% changing hands at 434.1p.
