Tryptamine Therapeutics has announced a major step forward in precision psychiatry, and has entered an exclusive agreement with Imperial College London professors Robin Carhart-Harris and Pedro Mediano — leaders in psychedelic research — to develop a proprietary EEG-based biomarker platform for its lead program, TRP-8803.
The technology will use real-time brainwave monitoring and machine learning to help clinicians predict which patients are most likely to benefit from treatment, and adjust dosing in real time to maximise therapeutic outcomes.

Development of the biomarker will begin on September 1, using data from completed and upcoming trials, including TRP-8803 for binge eating disorder.
Biomarker-guided drugs in the central nervous system space have been shown to be up to ten times more likely to win regulatory approval — meaning this program could lower the risks for Tryp and set a new benchmark in precision psychiatry.
