Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) announced the signing of a non-binding agreement with ZIGChain and DigiShares to explore the development of a platform for institutional-grade tokenisation of real-world assets.
The memorandum of understanding outlines the potential for DigiShares to integrate ZIGChain, a Layer 1 blockchain, into its platform, and to provide a white-label tokenisation solution.
It is anticipated that Valereum's VLRM Markets may also use the blockchain to issue and distribute digital asset offerings to qualified investors.
The plans envisage the potential development of a decentralised exchange for compliant trading of tokenised assets, the company noted, and the collaboration will initially target the MENA region, before an expansion globally.
"This collaboration is part of our work to build institutional-grade infrastructure to power digital assets. By combining Valereum's regulatory-first approach, ZIGChain's blockchain capabilities, DigiShares' proven tokenisation platform, and VLRM Markets' RWA licensed permissions, we're working towards enabling compliant, scalable, and accessible RWA solutions for institutions and innovators alike," said Velereum business development lead Mark Mariampillai.
"Having worked with the ZIGChain team for years, I see this as a step towards realising the future of regulated Web3 wealth management."
Abdul Rafay, ZIGChain chief executive, meanwhile, added: "Our goal is to empower institutions and asset owners across the MENA region and beyond with the tools to tokenise, manage, and trade real world assets in a secure and regulatory-compliant way.
"This collaboration brings us closer to our vision of making blockchain the trusted backbone of the global asset market and allowing anyone to access wealth management."
