Nano One Materials significantly upgrades capacity at Candiac facility

Nano One Materials Corp (TSX:NANO, OTC:NNOMF) told investors it has installed and commissioned a proprietary agitator in the full‑scale One‑Pot reactor at its Candiac facility in Québec.

The upgrade is designed to improve cost performance and support scale‑up and product commercialization. The custom unit is fitted to a 20,000‑litre reactor.

Throughput capacity is estimated to increase by about 50%. The company expects improved output consistency and lower operating costs.

It follows a pilot on 2,000‑litre One‑Pot reactors, commissioned in October 2023.

"The successful commissioning of the new equipment marks an important milestone in the further optimization of the Candiac operations, which has been established as a One-Pot LFP demonstration production plant," said Denis Geoffroy, chief commercialization officer.

"The upgrade was achieved through the combined efforts of our engineering and production teams. With their decades of commercial experience, the teams have continued to focus on continuous improvement and cost competitiveness of the technology.

Geoffroy added: "This achievement underscores the scalability of the One-Pot process."

Nano One said the agitator and reactor design are representative of systems planned for future commercial‑scale plants.

The upgrade will support validation and business development with customers and partners, including prospects in battery energy storage systems, it highlighted, citing robust demand across AI data centers, military, and grid optimization over the past 18 months.

The equipment was sourced from a German manufacturer. Nano One said it is building a resilient supply chain in light of China’s July 2025 export restrictions on LFP‑related equipment. The project has support from NRC IRAP Clean Technology Program, Investissement Québec, Technoclimat, and the US Department of Defense.

Separately, the company announced five new patents in North America and Asia. The portfolio now totals 52 granted, one allowed, and 54 pending.

The patents cover LFP, NMC (M2CAM), and LNMO technologies, with recent issuances and allowances dated April to July 2025 in Korea, Canada, the United States, and Taiwan.
