Premier African Mins leaps as Zulu goes operational with spodumene levels 'encouraging'

Shares in Premier African Minerals Ltd (AIM:PREM, OTC:PRMMF) leapt 39% higher to 0.034p after saying that its Zulu lithium and tantalum project in Zimbabwe has into full operation.

This followed the successful completion of the second phase of plant testing.

The primary flotation plant is now running continuously, producing saleable spodumene concentrate exceeding the required 5% lithium oxide, with peak grades reaching 6.2%, the AIM company said.

The focus now shifts to ongoing optimisation to maintain consistent output, with plans to purchase a secondary flotation plant delayed to allow further review by its new managing director.

CEO George Roach said: “The recent rise in spodumene pricing is encouraging, with the potential to transition Zulu to sustained profitability.”

A second site visit has also been completed by a potential offtake partner, with negotiations expected to start soon.
