Critical Resources secures maiden drilling permit at Amoco Gold-Antimony Project

Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has received approval from the New South Wales (NSW) Resources Regulator for its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drill program at the Amoco Gold-Antimony Project. The company has been granted an Assessable Prospecting Operation (APO) approval by regulators alongside a Land Access Agreement, allowing it to start drilling at Amoco.

The company has identified a priority area with rock samples grading up to 17.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 0.53% antimony, and 80 g/t silver. Results from a targeted soil-geochemistry program are expected in early September, with drilling to follow later in the month.

Amoco sits in a prospective region, approximately 19 kilometres southeast of Larvotto Resources’ Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Project and 14 kilometres east of Koonenberry Gold’s Enmore Gold Project.

"The receipt of the approvals from the NSW Resource Regulators marks an important step for the Amoco Project as we advance our next phase of exploration at Amoco," Critical Resources’ CEO Tim Wither said.

"The Amoco target represents a compelling opportunity within the region's rich history of antimony-gold production, and recent success at Koonenberry’s (ASX:KNB) Enmore gold project highlights the opportunity at Amoco.

"The collection of soil geochemistry samples has been completed, with assay results expected by early September. The geochemistry data is the last step to bolster our confidence in the drill targeting, as we get prepared to commence the maiden drill program at Amoco in the second half of September."

Geological setting and exploration results

Amoco is located within the New England Fold Belt, a gold-antimony rich region characterised by multiple, closely spaced faults extending horizontally for hundreds of metres and vertically for several kilometres. This structural setting underpins the project’s potential scale and economic significance.

Initial field mapping in May 2025 confirmed mineralisation over a 1-kilometre east-west trend. Fifteen rock chip samples collected during the campaign returned anomalous results greater than 0.8 g/t gold, with peak assays up to 15.1 g/t gold. These results correlate strongly with historical data showing up to 17.9 g/t gold, 0.53% antimony and 80 g/t silver.

Soil-geochemistry program

A targeted soil-geochemistry program began in July 2025 across interpreted structural corridors at Amoco. The program is designed to refine drill targets and enhance geological confidence. Sampling has been completed, with assays expected in early September following delays in transport.

Amoco proposed soil-geochemical sampling program with rock samples and interpreted major/minor structures from aeromagnetic survey (black dashed).

Once results are received, the company will finalise drill design. A drilling contractor has been secured, and site preparations, including drill pad and access track development, will begin immediately after final planning.

What's next?

Drilling at Amoco is scheduled to begin in the second half of September, following integration of soil-geochemistry results into drill targeting.

Meanwhile, the company is advancing applications for exploration activities at the Mayview Antimony-Gold Project with the NSW Resources Regulator and in negotiations with landowners for access.
