Gemini Space Station, the cryptocurrency company founded by twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has filed for an initial public offering in the US.
The company plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “GEMI.”
The IPO will feature a dual-class share structure, allowing the Winklevoss twins to retain majority voting control, qualifying Gemini as a “controlled company” under Nasdaq rules.
The offering will be led by major banks, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup.
Founded in 2014, Gemini operates as a regulated cryptocurrency exchange and custodian. Its offerings include the Gemini Dollar (GUSD) stablecoin and a crypto rewards credit card.
As of June 2025, the company has achieved a lifetime trading volume of $285 billion and holds over $18 billion in cryptocurrency assets under custody.
In the first half of 2025, Gemini reported a net loss of $282.5 million on $67.9 million in revenue, up from a $41.4 million net loss on $73.5 million in revenue during the same period in 2024.
