Hemogenyx gains as first adult dose cohort is completed

Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals PLC (LSE:HEMO, OTC:HOPHF) has completed the first adult dose cohort in its ongoing Phase I clinical trial for HG-CT-1, a CAR-T therapy for relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia.

"Completing the first adult dose cohort is a major achievement in our Phase I trial of HG-CT-1," said Hemogenyx chief executive Dr. Vladislav Sandler.

The third patient was treated following special FDA approval granted under exceptional circumstances.

The trial is a dose-escalation study designed to evaluate safety and secondary endpoints such as overall survival and anti-leukemic activity.

The first two patients remain alive at six and three months post-treatment, respectively.

Sandler told investors that the company is now ready to proceed with the next dose level and begin enrolling pediatric patients.

In London, Hemogenyx shares climbed just over 10% changing hands at 156.95p, valuing the business at around £7.5 million.
