The Small Cap Watch: Alkane targets addition to resource, Buru identifies flying fox and Nova continues to receive Alaskan support

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index gained 12.40 points, or 0.36%, to close at 3,468.70 yesterday, but is up 0.97% over the past five days.

It’s a slow start to the day on the news front, but you can read about the following and more throughout the day.

Tomingley Gold Project exploration update

Exploration at Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK, OTC:ALKEF) Tomingley Gold Project (TGP) has targeted additions to the resource inventory and extended mine life for the Tomingley Gold Operations (TGO). Drilling—comprising diamond core, reverse circulation (RC) and air-core—was conducted at multiple sites within five kilometres of TGO.

At the El Paso prospect, two kilometres south of the San Antonio deposit, four diamond core holes totalling about 1,200 metres tested a dacite unit geochemically identical to the host rock of high-grade mineralisation at San Antonio’s southern section. Near true-thickness gold intercepts indicate strong mineralisation potential.

Buru Energy identifies ‘Flying Fox’

Buru Energy Ltd (ASX:BRU, OTC:BRNGF) has identified the Flying Fox prospect beneath the Rafael gas and condensate field in the Canning Basin. Prospective resources are estimated between 60–614 billion standard cubic feet (Bscf) of gas, with a best estimate of 247 Bscf, and between 1.2–12.6 million stock tank barrels (MMstb) of condensate, with a best estimate of 5.0 MMstb.

Chief executive Thomas Nador said the Rafael Gas Project’s investment case rests on conservative assumptions, with Flying Fox offering “significant additive benefits” through potential resource expansion and higher sustained gas flow rates.

Alaska backs Nova’s Estelle Project

Nova Minerals Ltd (ASX:NVA, NASDAQ:NVA, OTC:NVAAF)' Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project has received continued support from Alaska State Governor Mike Dunleavy and recognition from Australian Consular-General Tanya Bennett. Both highlighted its strategic alignment with Alaska’s infrastructure plans and its role in Australia–United States collaboration in critical minerals.

Chief executive Christopher Gerteisen said momentum was growing as Estelle gained “significant strategic recognition.”
