Aurrigo rallies as it lands Teesside Airport contract

Aurrigo International (AIM:AURR) shares rallied some 10% in Wednesday’s early deals, after announcing a new multi-year contract at Teesside International Airport.

It follows a profit warning earlier this week, as its automotive unit sees downstream impacts from Donald Trump’s tariff policies.

Today, though, the AIM-quoted company announced the signing of a £900,000 contract to deploy autonomous transport solutions at the airport in the North East of England.

The project will start in the second half of 2025, with testing of the Auto-Shuttle.

After a phase of testing, its planned that Auriggo’s Auto-Shuttle and Auto-DollyTug will be moved to the airport for airside trials and live operations in 2026.

“This marks the first time our Auto-Shuttle and Auto-DollyTug will be deployed together as an integrated solution in a live airport environment,” said chief executive David Keene.

“Our solutions work to enhance the passenger experience amid rising traveller volumes, while delivering greater efficiency, lower operational costs, and improved safety.

Keene added that this deal helps showcase the firm’s technology and strengthens its go-to-market approach with both existing and prospective customers.

Phil Foster, Teesside Airport managing director, meanwhile, commented: “To have this technology in place early next year will mean bags will travel from check-in to plane even more seamlessly, and in an even greener way.”
