Askari Metals Ltd CEO Gino D’Anna talked with Proactive about the company securing all official licenses required for its Nejo Gold and Copper Project in Ethiopia. D’Anna described this as an important milestone following both legal due diligence and meetings with the Oromia regional government and the Ethiopian Ministry of Mines.
“The validation of those licenses obviously gives us the confidence now to move ahead with the transaction,” he said. The final step in the acquisition process will be shareholder approval, after which Askari plans to mobilise its exploration team.
D’Anna also discussed potential strategic collaboration with Shining Star International, highlighting their technical and financial capacity to support project development.
In terms of fieldwork, Askari will immediately begin a work program including sampling, trenching, and drilling. Initial efforts will target high-grade copper at the Cattle prospect in the north before expanding to the southern license area. The company aims to validate historical drilling results and design its maiden drill campaign, expected to start in October.
