Valereum invests in AI software firm Metrikus

Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) has agreed to invest £600,000 in Metrikus Software Limited.

The first £100,000 tranche will be invested immediately, with the remaining £500,000 following in monthly instalments.

Metrikus is an AI play – specifically, it is described as “operating at the convergence of AI, IoT, ESG, and smart building infrastructure’ – with the technology integrating live sensor data, to enable predictive insights, operational efficiency, and emissions reduction.

The Metrikus investment forms part of Valereum’s strategy to support data-rich businesses with tokenisation opportunities, the company said. And, it follows the company’s earlier investment in DigiShares.

“We're opening the door to meaningful collaboration on tokenisation use cases, as part of Valereum's commitment to backing dynamic companies delivering real innovation and measurable economic value,” Valereum chief executive Gary Cottle said in a statement.

Valereum noted that the collaboration with Metrikus may include tokenisation of its intellectual property, contracts, and revenue streams, with potential applications in fractionalised asset ownership, carbon credit token models, and smart contract distribution through Valereum’s partner network.

The investment is deemed a ‘related party transaction', as Valereum chief executive Gary Cottle is also a director of Metrikus.
