Rockfire Resources PLC (LSE:ROCK) told investors it will begin drilling at its Molaoi zinc deposit, in Greece, before 15 September.
“It is with great pleasure that we are able to inform the market of our start date for drilling,” chief executive David Price said in a statement.
“Our investors have been understanding during the permitting process, and we are most appreciative of their patience with this necessary process."
The drill programme will comprise 30 holes, designed to achieve an ‘Indicated’ category JORC resource. And, a maiden ‘Inferred’ germanium resource is expected once the drilling is complete.
Drilling results will be released as assays are received, Rockfire noted, with the resource model updated throughout the programme.
A feasibility study will start alongside drilling, using two historical studies from the Greek State to help accelerate work.
“Our efforts on the ground to prepare for drilling and the many logistical aspects required for a drilling campaign will continue to progress in readiness for the commencement of drilling,” Price added.
