Solis Minerals CEO Mitch Thomas talked with Proactive about recent progress across the company’s copper-gold projects in Peru, including the flagship Ilo Este project, as well as developments at Chancho al Palo and Cinto.
Thomas said drilling at Chancho al Palo, the company’s maiden program for 2025, has reached its third hole, with assays pending. He noted “visual mineralisation, so copper and gold,” which will be confirmed once the full assay set is received. Cinto is moving ahead quickly, with permits for a ten-drill-pad program expected to allow work to start before year-end.
The main focus remains Ilo Este, described by Thomas as the flagship due to its substantial historical database, including around 10,000 metres of drilling completed by Rio Tinto and others. This legacy data, combined with recent geochemistry and geophysics, has highlighted high-priority targets. A drill rig is already on site, being commissioned, with drilling to begin shortly.
Looking ahead, Thomas said the second half of the year is shaping up to be “an exciting one for shareholders,” with multiple updates expected in August and beyond.
