Critical Resources CEO Tim Wither talked with Proactive about the company’s key developments in the latest quarter, including new strategic acquisitions in New Zealand and ongoing progress across its lithium and antimony projects in Canada and Australia.
Whither outlined the significance of the Cap Burn gold project, located just 11km from the Macraes 10 million ounce mine in New Zealand. “We are 11km from a 10 million ounce mine camp. So, very, very exciting,” he told Proactive. The company has entered into two separate binding agreements to acquire gold and antimony assets, consolidating a statistically significant footprint across the Otago and Reefton regions.
In Canada, the company continued low-cost, value-adding exploration at its Mavis Lake lithium project, which holds a current resource of 8 million tonnes at over 1% lithium. In New South Wales, Australia, the Halls Peak project delivered promising rock chip samples and soil geochemistry work is underway.
Looking ahead, Whither said the company expects permit transfers in New Zealand to be completed by September, with drilling to follow by November. Drilling is also anticipated in Australia, pending final regulatory approvals.
