C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) said on Wednesday that recently completed geophysical surveys have identified large-scale anomalies coinciding with high-grade soil geochemistry at its 100%-owned Khaleesi copper-gold project in southern Peru, supporting the potential for a significant mineralized system.
The company plans to launch a 14-hole, 6,000-metre maiden diamond drilling program in the third quarter of 2025 to test both skarn and porphyry copper-gold targets.
“Khaleesi is a highly compelling, undrilled copper-gold mineralized skarn, porphyry prospect in a world-class porphyry-skarn belt,” CEO Dan Symons said in a statement. “We now have a robust dataset to optimally target both the porphyry and skarn style copper mineralization.”
Ground-based magnetic induced polarization and magnetotelluric surveys identified geophysical responses coincident with previously reported soil anomalies, including a copper-molybdenum anomaly measuring 1,900 metres by up to 650 metres and a copper-zinc anomaly measuring 470 metres by 400 metres.
The IP survey revealed two distinct near-surface chargeability anomalies extending to depths of up to 600 vertical metres. One porphyry copper target lies beneath an 800-by-400-metre copper-molybdenum anomaly averaging 950 parts per million (ppm) copper. A second copper skarn target correlates with a copper-zinc soil anomaly averaging 1,260 ppm copper.
Surface mapping and sampling have confirmed porphyry, skarn, and epithermal styles of alteration across a 3.3-square-kilometre area. Rock chip samples have returned values of up to 2.82% copper, 6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 57.7 g/t silver and 403 ppm molybdenum.
C3 Metals said geophysical and geochemical anomalies appear to connect beneath a zone of glacial till cover, where no outcropping rock is present, further supporting the presence of a large hydrothermal system. The project is located within 45 kilometres of several large copper mines.
The company said it considers Khaleesi its highest priority target for drilling.
