Janus Electric managing director Ian Campbell talked with Proactive about the company’s significant progress in its latest quarter since listing on the ASX.
The quarter saw Janus Electric secure $8.8 million in new capital, make operational upgrades, and enter a key partnership with Electrovaya, a North American battery manufacturer. The new funds and operational focus helped complete a factory move and increase manufacturing capacity.
Campbell highlighted that the team completed another EV truck conversion, secured three new orders, and readied another "Charge and Change" station for deployment. He said, "The team at Janus has done an incredible job to get the factory and manufacturing facility all set up and ready to go."
A major milestone this quarter was the commercial supply agreement with Electrovaya, allowing Janus to simplify battery pack delivery and reduce conversion risk. The new battery tech lowers weight, extends warranty, and boosts range — all critical for fleet competitiveness.
While Janus remains focused on Australia, it has already secured two orders in the United States, supporting its broader expansion ambitions.
Operationally, the company recorded another 100,000km on its electric fleet, completed around 500 battery swaps, and used 8 megawatts of power, further validating its EV model’s efficiency.
Looking ahead, Campbell said the priority is securing commercial build slots for the rest of the year and ensuring fleet owners view electric conversion as the most economical choice.
