Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI, OTCQB:KAIFF) has hit a new wide gold zone — which the company’s geologists have dubbed “Monster” — at its Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara, with drilling revealing significant extension of mineralisation of the Main Trend deposit near the Main Hill prospect.
In the latest drill batch, hole 25MYDD031 returned 53 metres at 1.45 g/t gold (Au) from 212 metres, including a 10-metre interval at 2.95 g/t Au. This intersection, located northwest of Main Hill, points to a previously undrilled zone of gold-bearing rock.

The latest results offer fresh optimism for an updated resource estimate expected later this year, with the Monster zone potentially adding significant ounces to the 1.4-million-ounce (Moz) resource at Mt York.
“Drilling continues to provide nice surprises, and we are beginning to understand the controls on the wide, higher-grade zones of mineralisation within fold flexures that we can map out and, importantly, target over hundreds of metres along the 3-kilometre-long, continuously mineralised Main Trend,” Kairos managing director Dr Peter Turner said.

A major discovery: the ‘Monster’ zone
The Monster zone lies in an area that had not previously been explored, adding to the growing belief that Mt York is home to a substantial and growing gold deposit. This newly intercepted mineralisation is considered a potential fold flexure or closure in the banded iron formation (BIF), an important geological structure that has previously hosted thick, high-grade gold mineralisation at Mt York.
The drilling at Mt York is part of an 80-hole, 18,000-metre Stage 1 drilling program designed to test extensions of high-grade shoots and expand resources. As of now, 52 holes have been completed, with 19 sets of results already received.
Hole 25MYDD031 is just one of several standout results from the current campaign, along with intersections of 3 metres @ 7.20 g/t Au at Gossan Hill and 62 metres @ 0.78 g/t Au from Main Hill. These results underscore the potential for further resource growth at Mt York.

Kairos is also advancing plans for Stage 2 drilling, which will focus on converting Inferred resources to higher-confidence Indicated resources and target near-surface high-grade shoots. The company has already made notable progress, with Stage 1 drilling ahead of schedule and on budget.
A gold-rich trend in the Pilbara
The Mt York project lies within the 3-kilometre-long Main Trend, which Kairos believes could host significant extensions of high-grade gold mineralisation. The Monster zone adds to a broader trend of success, with Main Hill alone hosting the largest widths of BIF and some of the broadest mineralised zones in the project area.

“To report a drill hole intercept of 53 metres @ 1.45 g/t Au in any gold project is a good result, but this result is even more special – it is an extension of the largely untested Main Hill prospect, where the mineralisation remains open in all directions and is an exciting, large target to drill,” Turner said.
As drilling continues, Kairos’ focus is on refining the mineralisation model and expanding resources across the Mt York region. The update of the resource estimate scheduled for later in 2025 will factor in all drilling results, including this latest batch, and could unlock further value.
Kairos also plans to follow up with four additional diamond holes to further define the new zone and explore extensions of high-grade mineralisation along the Main Trend.
The road ahead for Mt York
The discovery at the Monster zone reinforces the ongoing potential of the Mt York Gold Project, with further drilling planned throughout August and September 2025.
As drilling progresses and the resource grows, Kairos’s focus will also shift toward finalising agreements and moving forward with metallurgical test work and pre-feasibility studies in preparation for the next phase of development at Mt York.
“We remain confident Mt York will become one of the Pilbara’s – and Western Australia’s – largest undeveloped gold resources with clean metallurgy, once drilling is complete,” Turner said.
