YouGov surges 17% as broker backs turnaround in Data Products

Shares in YouGov PLC (AIM:YOU) jumped 17% after the market responded positively to a trading update confirming that full-year performance is on track with expectations.

In the aftermath, Peel Hunt reiterated its 'buy' recommendation and set a price target of 720p, arguing that the current valuation remains compelling at five times forecast enterprise value to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation for 2026.

The broker highlighted that YouGov’s Data Products division has returned to growth, delivering low-single-digit underlying gains thanks to improved renewals and new client wins.

“Renewed focus on Data Products has led to improving trends in both client retention and new client wins, providing a solid foundation for growth in the new year,” its analysts wrote.

While overall revenue grew modestly, in line with expectations, the Research division’s progress was held back by weaker demand in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and in the government sector.

YouGov Shopper, previously known as Customised Products & Services, performed slightly ahead of market expectations, with management anticipating faster growth ahead as investment continues.

The data group has also achieved 70% of its £20 million annualised cost savings target in the financial year.

Peel Hunt made no changes to its 2025 forecasts, but trimmed its 2026 earnings per share estimate by 1.6%, citing currency movements.

The shares rose 51p to 358.5p
