Digi Power X grows Bitcoin holdings and launches patent for modular AI data platform

Digi Power X Inc (NASDAQ:DGXX, TSX-V:DGX), the energy infrastructure group, has reported a sharp rise in its Bitcoin reserves and a new patent filing for its artificial intelligence-ready data centre platform.

In an update on Monday, the company said it held a combined $30 million in cash, Bitcoin, Ethereum and deposits at the end of July, up 122% from $13.5 million the previous month.

This jump was driven in part by a rise in Bitcoin’s value, which closed July at $117,200, according to CoinMarketCap, compared with $107,750 at the end of June.

The company expanded its Bitcoin inventory to 61 coins, up from 40 at the end of June (a 51% increase) through mining and additional purchases.

It also added to its holdings of Ethereum, the second most widely used cryptocurrency, converting some cash into 516.64 coins with a market value of about $1.9 million.

Across its self-mining and co-location operations, Digi Power X produced about 23 Bitcoins in July, representing roughly $2.7 million in value.

The total value of all coins produced at the company’s facilities, which also include proceeds from energy sales, reached $4.3 million.

Digi Power X also reported gross energy and power revenue of $1.6 million in July, earned by providing electricity capacity to other market participants.

The company invested $5.2 million so far this year in capital expenditure and mining infrastructure, including $1.7 million in July.

Patent filing for modular AI platform

The company’s wholly owned US Data Centers business has filed a provisional patent for the ARMS 200 platform, a modular data centre system designed for high-density computing, particularly for artificial intelligence workloads.

Each ARMS 200 unit is expected to supply 1 megawatt of compute power and support up to 256 of Nvidia’s B200 or B300 graphics processing units.

Digi Power X plans to use liquid cooling, dual power sources for redundancy, and its proprietary NeoCloud system to manage GPU-as-a-Service deployments.

The first ARMS 200 will be rolled out at the company’s Alabama site, with the platform designed to scale up to 40 megawatts and accommodate as many as 10,240 GPUs. Further designs, including ARMS 300 and 400, are in progress.

The company has also placed an order with Super Micro Computer for systems powered by Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which will be integrated into the ARMS 200 infrastructure.

Expanding mining and client pipeline

While expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure, Digi Power X is continuing to invest in Bitcoin mining, deploying new hydro-powered systems designed to increase energy efficiency. These units are scheduled to be operational in early 2026.

NeoCloud, the company’s cloud platform for GPU-based computing, allows clients in sectors such as finance, biotechnology and artificial intelligence to rent high-performance computing power on demand. Digi Power X is currently in discussions with clients to launch pilot programmes by the end of 2025.

Digi Power X said that 5,537,935 company warrants have been exercised or expired so far this year.

The company operates three sites with a combined 100 megawatts of available power and aims to double its capacity through both organic growth and acquisitions.

Digi Power X develops data centres to support the growth of sustainable energy assets and digital infrastructure in North America.
