West Wits Mining mobilises for full-scale development at Qala Shallows gold project

West Wits Mining (ASX: WWI) has officially kicked off mobilisation at its Qala Shallows gold project in South Africa — signalling the shift from early-stage development to full project execution.

Site works and infrastructure build-out are now in motion, with key contractors on-site and equipment arriving. The company is also transporting previously stockpiled ore to the Ezulwini Processing Plant — with first gold production on track for the first half of 2026.

Once fully funded and ramped up, Qala Shallows is targeting steady-state output of 65,000 tonnes per month — translating to an average of 70,000 ounces of gold per year over a planned 12-year mine life.

Production blasting is scheduled to begin between July and September next year, with a 30,000-tonne stockpile to be built ahead of processing to ensure a smooth ramp-up.
