Kairos Minerals' Mt York drilling eyes resource growth

Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI, OTCQB:KAIFF) has reported a productive June 2025 quarter, advancing its flagship Mt York Gold Project in the Pilbara with accelerated drilling and key steps towards permitting. The company drilled 32 holes totalling 8,940 metres, with results from half of the campaign returning strong intercepts supportive of resource expansion. Meanwhile, heritage and land access discussions progressed for both Mt York and the Roe Hills Project in the Eastern Goldfields.

“Our focus continues to be at our flagship Mt York Gold Project in the Pilbara, where 3 diamond rigs continue to work double-shift on resource drilling the ‘Main Trend’ where current resources sit at 1.4 Moz Au," Kairos managing director Dr Peter Turner said. "The first results became available after the quarter ended and continue to reinforce our belief in the potential scale of this project. Not only are we seeing wide zones of gold mineralisation in new areas, but we are encouraged to see solid, higher-grade gold intercepts within the lower-grade envelopes.

"From the previous 2023 resource, Mt York has more than 750,000 ounces of gold at 1.6 g/t Au and the current drilling is confirming that high-grade shoots are both horizontal within the system, but also likely to be extensive (>300m) along-strike in both footwall and hangingwall positions.

"This is great news. We are delighted that Main Hill is finally the subject of drilling again – this remains the largest target within the Main Trend as the resource model in this area is largely unguided due to the lack of historic drilling.

"With drilling scheduled to continue into September and possibly beyond, we look forward to releasing results as they become available.”

Mt York resource drilling ramps up

Three diamond rigs operated on double-shift at the 1.4 million ounce Mt York Gold Project. Assay results from 16 of 32 holes confirmed broad and high-grade intercepts, including:

  • 21 metres at 1.87 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 169 metres, including 9 metres at 3.19 g/t (hole 25MYDD009)
  • 5 metres at 4.26 g/t gold from 299 metres (25MYDD010)
  • 48 metres at 1.03 g/t gold from 227 metres, including 11 metres at 3.38 g/t (25MYDD017)

The company noted these results validate high-grade shoot continuity and position across all tested prospects. Discussions also progressed with Pilbara Minerals Ltd (PLS) to secure access to tenement E45/2241, where Mt York mineralisation is interpreted to extend a further 1,500 metres to the northwest. A draft mining agreement has been submitted to the Nyamal Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) for review.

Roe Hills review and heritage work

At Roe Hills, Kairos completed a review of historic gold data across its tenement package. It is now engaging with the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (NNTAC) to commence heritage surveys under a protection agreement — paving the way for future exploration programs.

Financial position

Kairos held A$10.16 million in cash as at June 30, 2025.
