Asian Battery Metals advances Yambat exploration, confirms new Cu-Ni-PGE mineralisation

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9) advanced exploration at its flagship Yambat Project in Mongolia during the June 2025 quarter, delivering key geological outcomes from Phase 3 drilling at the Oval copper-nickel-platinum group elements (Cu-Ni-PGE) discovery and broader regional targets.

Project Locations in Mongolia.

Phase 3 confirms high-grade mineralisation and new zones

The company completed 2,938.9 metres of diamond drilling across 16 holes at Oval and regional targets MS1, MS2, and Copper Ridge. Key results include:

  • Extension of massive sulphide zones and high-grade mineralisation along strike of the Oval gabbroic intrusion.
  • New massive sulphide intercepts at drillhole OVD036 and disseminated mineralisation at OVD038, outlining a semi-continuous mineralised corridor over 800 metres from North Oval to Oval.
  • Confirmation of mineral system fertility at MS1, where mafic rocks in SC07 returned trace platinum group elements, blebby sulphides and depleted base metal content.

A SAMSON ground electromagnetic (EM) survey was initiated across the Oval and regional prospects to refine drill targets. In addition, the company completed Social Responsibility Agreements with local authorities in Yesunbulag and Taishir Soums.

Limited activity at other projects

Activities at the Khukh Tag Graphite and Tsagaan Ders Lithium projects in Dundgovi Province were limited to minimum exploration requirements. Project generation efforts continued, with a focus on identifying assets that complement the Yambat Project.

September 2025 quarter outlook

Asian Battery Metals will prioritise advancement of the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE project. Planned activities include:

  • Continuation of the SAMSON EM survey, with further results due.
  • Delivery of initial metallurgical test work on mineralised drill core.
  • Commencement of follow-up drilling in early August, targeting newly defined EM conductors.
  • Ongoing regional project assessments around Yambat.
