G Mining Ventures Corp (TSX:GMIN, OTCQX:GMINF) has released its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting its transition from mine developer to operator and progress at the Tocantinzinho Gold Mine (TZ) in Brazil, the Oko West Project in Guyana, and the Gurupi Project in Brazil.
The report was prepared in alignment with globally recognized frameworks, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, IFRS S1/S2, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
It outlines key environmental milestones, including the issuance of operating licenses at TZ and the launch of environmental permitting at Oko West.
G Mining achieved 94% water recycling at its mill, reforested 33 hectares, and completed Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions inventories.
Biodiversity initiatives included the relocation of thousands of plant specimens and the monitoring of over 10,000 fauna and flora.
On the social front, G Mining reported a Total Recordable Incident Frequency Rate of 0.08 and noted that 98% of its workforce at TZ is Brazilian, with significant local procurement totaling R$174 million (about US$35 million).
The company engaged over 2,300 students in education programs and increased female workforce representation to 15.2%.
Governance efforts included new corporate policies on human rights and climate change, 100% leadership completion of human rights training, and the filing of its first report under Canada’s supply chain transparency legislation.
All suppliers were screened for ethical risks, with no incidents of forced or child labor reported.
Looking to 2025, G Mining plans to reforest an additional 36 hectares, expand Scope 3 emissions tracking, study renewable energy options, and pursue compliance with the International Cyanide Management Code.
"2024 marked a foundational year for G Mining as we successfully transitioned into a gold producer and laid the groundwork to become a multi-asset gold producer," G Mining CEO Louis-Pierre Gignac said in a statement.
“This report captures not only our progress, but also our intent to: grow responsibly, reduce our environmental impact, and strengthen partnerships in the regions where we operate. As we grow, ESG remains central to how we operate and how we create responsible, long-term value for all stakeholders."
Eduardo Leão, G Mining’s Vice President of Sustainability, added that the report shows how ESG principles are embedded across the company’s operations.
"In 2024, we moved from design to delivery — formalizing policies, applying global frameworks, and engaging stakeholders across Brazil and Guyana. From biodiversity and water reuse to human rights and governance, we're building a resilient, responsible business grounded in long-term value creation.
Additionally, G Mining announced the departure of Dušan Petković as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. The company said Petković played a key role in the company’s early success, and his responsibilities have been transitioned internally.
G Mining also appointed Jean-François Lemonde as Vice President, Investor Relations. He brings experience in capital markets and investor engagement to support G Mining’s next phase of growth, the company said.
