Evion Group (ASX: EVG) scored a major endorsement from the European Union — with its Maniry Graphite Project in Madagascar now officially listed as a Strategic Project under the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act.
That makes Maniry the only African graphite project — and one of just 13 non-EU projects globally — to receive this prestigious designation.
Strategic Project status gives Maniry a fast-track permitting pathway, improved access to EU funding, and increased visibility with offtake partners and major manufacturers across Europe’s battery and EV sectors.
Managing Director David Round said: "The endorsement of our Project by the EU is a testament to the quality of our Project and the graphite we can produce. These opportunities can position Evion to be a leading producer of world class graphite and downstream graphite materials for decades to come.”
Talks are now progressing with the EU’s advisory team for grant funding and industry partnerships.
