Leeuwin Metals Ltd (ASX:LM1) on Tuesday highlighted notable progress at its Marda Gold Project in Western Australia over the quarter ended June 30, 2025, with more than 5,000 metres of drilling completed across Phase One and Two programs and initial assays confirming high-grade gold mineralisation in multiple prospects.
The continuity of high-grade gold mineralisation continues along a 3-kilometre corridor at Marda Central, with the potential to significantly advance the project’s exploration efforts. With positive assay results, including multiple thick intercepts of gold, Leeuwin is on track to build a substantial resource base within the project’s granted mining lease.
During the quarter, Leeuwin expanded its regional exploration footprint, focusing on both step-out drilling and follow-up of historical high-grade zones. These efforts are central to the company's strategy of rapidly scaling the Marda Gold Project’s resource inventory.
Leeuwin’s cash position at the end of June stood at $2.9 million, providing a solid platform for continued exploration.
High-grade intersections confirm mineralisation continuity
Leeuwin’s back-to-back drilling programs at Marda Central have returned several significant gold intercepts, providing further confidence in the project’s potential. Noteworthy results include:
- 16m at 2.00 g/t gold (Au) from 134m and 8m at 3.04 g/t Au from 215m in hole MGRC0006;
- 22m at 1.25 g/t Au from 123m, including 3m at 6.3 g/t Au, in hole MGRC0004; and
- 21m at 1.09 g/t Au from 98m and 9m at 2.46 g/t Au from 190m in hole MGRC0005.

These intersections confirm the continuity of gold mineralisation below and along strike from the historical open pits at Marda Central, reinforcing the geological model and setting the stage for Phase Three drilling.
The Phase One drilling results were key in validating Leeuwin’s approach, prompting a swift transition to Phase Two drilling, which targeted both extensions of known mineralisation and infill drilling to further define the resource.
Historical drilling data, including high-grade intersections such as 62 metres at 1.94 g/t Au from 102 metres (MRC292) and 48 metres at 1.95 g/t Au from 94 metres (MRC346), have also been integrated into the company's exploration strategy, adding further depth to the existing dataset.

Evanston area highlights new high-grade potential
Further strengthening Leeuwin’s Marda Gold Project, the Evanston area has emerged as a priority target. Located about 50 kilometres north of Marda Central, Evanston has shown considerable potential, with historical results such as 3.6 metres at 16.4 g/t Au from 1 metre (EDM003) and 13 metres at 4.38 g/t Au from 4 metres (PRC015).
Leeuwin’s recent field mapping and sampling have identified multiple parallel mineralised trends over 1.6 kilmetres of strike, with a focused drilling program now planned for the September quarter to test these high-grade, unmined zones beneath the historical workings.

“We’ve moved quickly since acquiring Marda and delivered two drill programs, high-grade assays returned, and a pipeline of targets to follow up,” said Leeuwin executive chairman Christopher Piggott. “The scale of Marda is building, and we’re just getting started.”
Path forward: drilling and resource definition
Leeuwin’s next steps at Marda include the completion of 3D geological modelling to refine target definition, as well as mobilising a drill rig to Evanston to test multiple high-grade, unmined zones.
Phase Three drilling is set to commence across Marda Central and Evanston, with a focus on continuity, extensions, and resource definition, as Leeuwin looks to rapidly translate exploration success into a defined resource within its granted mining lease.
The company will continue to advance the Marda Gold Project towards a maiden resource estimate, leveraging its clear exploration strategy and strong historical dataset.
