D3 Energy advances ER315 project with encouraging re-test results at RBD10 well

D3 Energy Ltd (ASX:D3E, OTCQB:DNRGF) is progressing with its multi-well production testing program at the ER315 project in South Africa’s Free State, reporting a 39% increase in gas flow rates at the RBD10 well following a period of pressure buildup after the well was shut in.

The re-test, conducted after a period of pressure monitoring, suggests a recharge of the reservoir from source rocks below, indicating strong reservoir connectivity and potential for further resource recovery.

Impressive flow rate increase signals strong potential

The flow testing at RBD10, which initially was conducted in August 2024, resumed on July 21, 2025. After the well was shut in to allow other boreholes to be tested, pressure trends indicated exceptional reservoir performance, and suggested the well is receiving additional recharge from the underlying source rocks.

During the 6.9-day flow testing period, RBD10 produced an average gas flow rate of 276 thousand standard cubic feet (Mscfd), a 39% increase over the previous test, which recorded a flow rate of 199 Mscfd. A total of 1,894 Mscf of gas was produced during this period.

The latest results confirm the well’s continued productivity and suggest that further testing, set to continue for another week, could reveal even more promising insights.

Next steps and strategic importance for D3 Energy

The ongoing tests at RBD10 are part of a broader strategy to unlock the full potential of ER315, D3 Energy’s flagship project, which is already showing strong technical results. The well is a key asset in the company’s push to advance its exploration and development plans in South Africa, including contingent and prospective helium and methane resources.

Elsewhere at ER315, D3 Energy has also recently seen progress at the RBD03 well, which demonstrated a 32% increase in gas flow rates following a clean-out operation to remove obstructions. These results highlight the potential of legacy wells within the ER315 permit area.

The improved flow rates at both the RBD10 and RBD03 wells support D3 Energy's geological model and bolster its reserve certification and Production Right application processes. The company has recently through collaborating with global consultancy Sproule ERCE completed its maiden reserve certification for ER315, a critical step in transitioning from appraisal to development.
