Lightning Minerals advances Mt Turner drilling ahead of first‑phase campaign

Lightning Minerals advances Mt Turner drilling ahead of first‑phase campaign

Lightning Minerals (ASX: L1M) has marked a major step forward at its Mt Turner Gold and Copper Project in Queensland, following a key site visit ahead of its first-phase drilling campaign.

The visit brought together Lightning’s MD Alex Biggs, exploration manager Matthew Watson, and Lotus Minerals’ Cerith Frame to review high-priority targets along the 14-kilometre Drummer Fault.

Drill sites included shallow historic pits like Rocky Reward and Drummer Girl — mined to just 20 metres in the 1990s — with limited exploration below 100 metres. Phase one drilling will now test the depth and strike of mineralisation beneath these pits, targeting extensions that remain virtually untouched.

Managing director Alex Biggs said: "We really like the potential that Mt Turner presents for the Company but getting on the ground has made us realise how many targets there are over such a broad area. Historic mining across the leases provides us with clear starting points for our phase one drilling program which will begin post our EGM in the coming weeks."

Lightning is now gearing up to begin a 1,000-metre program that could open up significant gold and copper opportunities at Mt Turner.
