Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) earlier this week reported results from its maiden RC drilling program at the Payns Prospect within the Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia. Joining us to discuss the results was managing director Andy Tudor.

Extended mineralisation
Nexus Minerals' first RC campaign followed previous aircore drilling that had uncovered a new mineralised area. It drilled 46 reverse circulation holes, 45 of which intersected mineralisation. Nexus said this indicated strong continuity across the defined zone.
The company told investors that drilling was designed to test down to depths of 100 to 150 metres. It said this work confirmed that mineralisation extends from the oxide zone into fresh rock. The mineralised area spans approximately 900 by 750 metres.
Mineralisation at Payns contrasts with other prospects at Wallbrook. While other targets feature steeply dipping structures, Payns appears bowl-shaped, with mineralised zones dipping toward each other from either side. Nexus said these zones are between 6 to 8 metres thick, grading between 1.5 and 3 grams per tonne.
Results due in August and further drilling to come
Tudor said Nexus is now collecting one-metre samples and conducting multi-element geochemistry. It is using 66-element assays to help vector future drilling. One-metre assay results are expected in August.
Hematite-altered rocks were encountered in deeper drill holes, which the company said are prospective feeder zones for the mineralisation.
Further RC drilling is planned at three nearby prospects—Godfrey, Clement, and AMC 4.1—once clearing is completed. Nexus said it expects this work to begin in the coming weeks.
In parallel, permitting and pre-development work continues at the Temple resource area. Nexus said it is preparing proposals and closure plans and is seeking to partner with a contractor to commence mining operations at the site.
The combination of exploration and development activity at Wallbrook represents a significant period of operational progress.
