Small Cap Watch: Targets defined, gold delivered, drilling wraps…

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index closed marginally lower yesterday, dipping 2.70 points or 0.08% to finish at 3,378.60. Despite the slight decline, the index has gained 67.40 points or 2.04% over the past five sessions.

Today is the final day of the Noosa Mining Conference. It’s been a full house at the conference since Wednesday, as investors immerse themselves in the work done by ASX-listed energy and resources companies. That hasn’t stopped the news flow, and we'll report on the following throughout the day.

Orthocell board change

Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) has announced the resignation of the Hon Kim Beazley AC from his role as independent non-executive director due to health reasons. He will continue to support the company in an advisory role, particularly on United States and defence matters.

The Board acknowledged Beazley’s significant contribution in advancing Orthocell’s international growth strategy. His US network and strategic insights were instrumental in positioning the company as a leading player in regenerative medicine.

Lanthanein wraps up drilling at Lady Grey

Lanthanein Resources Ltd (ASX:LNR, OTC:FRNRF) completed diamond drilling at its Lady Grey Project in Western Australia during the June quarter. Two holes were drilled on MLEM Survey Line #1, reaching depths of 325 metres and 351 metres respectively. Core samples have been sent to Perth for detailed analysis.

Asian Battery Metals refines Mongolia targets

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9) reported promising results from its fixed loop electromagnetic survey at the Oval copper-nickel discovery in southern Mongolia. The survey has outlined multiple conductive plates aligned with known structural and magnetic features, bolstering confidence ahead of drilling set to begin in August.

Aurum delivers more gold at Boundiali

Aurum Resources Ltd (ASX:AUE) has intercepted further shallow, high-grade gold at its 1.59 million ounce Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire. Mineralisation remains open along strike and depth, with eight company-owned diamond rigs actively drilling.

Two mineral resource estimate updates are planned this calendar year, with a Pre-Feasibility Study targeted for completion by year-end. Additionally, a 30,000-metre program is underway at Napié, which currently hosts a 0.87 million ounce gold resource. Aurum holds A$46.9 million in cash and the unaudited value of Montage Gold shares, supporting its exploration initiatives.
