EnergyPathways shares surge 9% as Costain appointed to advise on MESH project

EnergyPathways PLC (AIM:EPP) saw its share price climb 9% after announcing the appointment of Costain to help assess locations for its MESH integrated energy system.

The project aims to support the UK’s energy security and cut emissions by combining large-scale storage and production of natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia, graphite, and compressed air energy, along with flexible low-carbon power generation.

Costain will compare potential sites, weighing up whether to retrofit existing infrastructure or build new facilities. The review will also consider proximity to ports, distribution networks, and offshore pipelines.

EnergyPathways said MESH is designed to provide the grid with reliable, low-emission electricity and a stable gas supply, as well as develop new sources of clean hydrogen and ammonia.

Chief executive Ben Clube described the move as a further step in working with “world-class strategic partners” to ready the project for final investment decision, helping to deliver affordable, low-carbon energy for the UK.

The stock, up 32% in the past five days, advanced 0.4p to 5.04p on Thursday.
