European Lithium adds $1.8 million in funding from sale of Critical Metals shares

European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR, OTCQB:EULIF) has raised another US$1.8 million (A$2.7 million) through the sale of 500,000 shares in Critical Metals Corp (Nasdaq: CRML) to a US institutional investor, after a similar deal in June raised US$5 million (A$7.8 million). The latest off-market transaction was completed at a price of US$3.60 per share, representing a 10% discount on CRML’s closing price of US$4.03 on July 22, 2025.

The proceeds from both sales are part of European Lithium’s strategy to capitalise on its substantial holding in Critical Metals while furthering its own project development and exploration initiatives.

Strong value backing for EUR’s CRML stake

With European Lithium’s remaining 62.5 million CRML shares valued at about US$284 million (A$436.5 million) based on the July 23, 2025, closing price of US$4.54 per share, the company’s CRML stake is well above its current market capitalisation, executive chairman Tony Sage noted.

“This transaction again highlights the value of the company's holding in CRML,” he said. “The company’s holding in CRML equates to $0.30c per EUR share.”

The sale builds on the previous transaction from June 27, which saw European Lithium raise US$5 million from the sale of 1.4 million CRML shares at US$3.60 per share.

The funds provide European Lithium with additional liquidity to focus on its exploration and development goals, with the deals demonstrating the continued strength and value of the company’s position in Critical Metals.

Strategic positioning in the critical minerals sector

European Lithium’s investment in Critical Metals supports its strategic focus on lithium and rare earths.

Critical Metals, which is developing the Tanbreez Rare Earth Project in Greenland and the Wolfsberg Lithium Project in Austria, is positioned as a key player in the European critical minerals sector, essential for the clean energy transition and next-generation technologies.

The Wolfsberg Lithium Project, in particular, holds promise as a major future supplier of lithium to the European market, complementing European Lithium’s own goals for regional energy solutions.

With this latest transaction, European Lithium continues to bolster its financial position while holding a significant stake in one of Europe’s key lithium and rare earths assets.
