Tryptamine Therapeutics (ASX: TYP) has kicked off patient recruitment for a landmark clinical trial using its proprietary IV psilocin treatment, TRP-8803, to target Binge Eating Disorder.
In partnership with Swinburne University, this world-first trial will test TRP-8803 alongside psychotherapy, aiming to assess safety, feasibility, and early efficacy.
Binge Eating Disorder is the most common eating disorder in the US, and the second in Australia — often tied to obesity, depression, PTSD and anxiety.
This trial marks a major milestone for Tryptamine, following regulatory approvals and protocol finalisation — and may unlock new pathways for treating complex psychiatric conditions.
Tryptamine's Chief Executive Officer, Jason Carroll, said: "We expect patient screening to commence imminently allowing for first patient dosing this quarter. I look forward to providing additional updates on enrolment and dosing in the coming weeks.”
Top-line results are due in Q4, 2025, and Tryptamine is also eyeing further applications for TRP-8803 in the future, including fibromyalgia and IBS.
