Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL, VFEX:CMCL) earlier this week reported improved gold production figures, following a management restructure at Blanket Mine.
It said the new team was spending more time underground, which led to higher productivity and faster resolution of operational issues. Chief Executive Mark Learmonth said, “It’s not rocket science, but look, we’ll take it any day.”
The company highlighted that Blanket Mine has a life of mine of more than ten years based on reserves. It said grades and widths at depth have exceeded expectations, supporting reserve replacement.
The company is investing in ventilation, underground access and electricity resilience. It noted that exploration work has started near the existing footprint and results could be available later in the year.
Learmonth said the focus for the rest of 2025 will be on maintaining stable production and improving cost efficiency.
Feasibility studies are continuing at the Bilboes project, with this work aiming to develop the asset while limiting equity dilution and financial risk.
