Askari Metals Ltd executive director Gino D’Anna talked with Proactive about a promising new development at the company’s Nejo Gold Project in Ethiopia, where high-grade copper mineralisation has been confirmed.
D’Anna highlighted that historical drill hole three intersected 14.5 metres at nearly 3.2% copper — a significant result, particularly as the hole ended in mineralisation. He said, “We’re really optimistic around going back into the field and revisiting those drill holes and putting in place original plans to really extend the mineralisation.”
The conversation emphasised how Askari is approaching Nejo with a fresh and systematic strategy. Despite historical drilling dating back more than 25 years, D’Anna said past efforts lacked a comprehensive exploration program. Askari aims to address this by reassessing geophysics, soil geochemistry, and drill collar placements to properly target mineralised bodies.
He noted that copper-focused drilling is planned for the northern Katta target area, while gold exploration will continue in the southern part of the project. D’Anna stressed the project’s dual potential and reaffirmed Askari’s confidence in uncovering further mineralised zones.
