American Rare Earths (ASX: ARR) has kicked off a major optimisation program at its Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming — a key step towards building one of the US’s largest rare earths supply hubs.
The company has launched parallel testing of different mineral processing routes — aimed at boosting recoveries of high-value magnet rare earths used in advanced tech and defence.
Meanwhile, test mining is already underway at the Cowboy State Mine, where bulk samples are being collected. While just 8 tonnes are needed for immediate testing, ARR is extracting over 3,000 tonnes to supply both its optimisation work and future pilot plant feed.
This effort feeds directly into the project’s Pre-Feasibility Study — and marks an important milestone for ARR’s US subsidiary, Wyoming Rare.
With cost-effective open-pit mining and access to state-level permitting, Halleck Creek is shaping up to be a cornerstone in the US' economic and national security supply chains.
