Orosur shares surge 17% on thick, high-grade gold hits at Pepas

Shares in Orosur Mining Inc (AIM:OMI, TSX-V:OMI) rose 17% on Thursday after the company reported some of its best gold drill results to date from the Pepas prospect at its fully owned Anzá Project in Colombia.

The standout result came from hole PEP045, which intersected 62.3 metres at 12.76 grams per tonne gold, including 10.1 metres at 33.39 grams per tonne.

Other highlights included 38.5 metres at 6.01 grams per tonne (PEP044) and 53.2 metres at 3.36 grams per tonne (PEP046).

These latest holes are part of a resource drilling programme aimed at producing a Mineral Resource Estimate.

Several other holes drilled outside the core mineralised zone also showed encouraging signs, suggesting the system may extend further than initially expected.

Chief executive Brad George said: “The commencement of resource drilling has exceeded all expectations, with some of the thickest and highest-grade intersections seen anywhere in the world. We have only just begun.”

The stock rose 1.3p to 8.8p.
