Krakatoa Resources CEO Mark Major talked with Proactive about the company's preparations to launch its maiden drilling campaign at the Zopkhito Sb-Au Project in Georgia’s Racha region.
Major explained that camp infrastructure has been re-established following a decade of inactivity and that drill rigs are now either on site or en route. “We expect to be drilling very, very soon,” he said. The program is expected to consist of between 7,000 and 10,000 metres of diamond drilling.
The primary goal is to convert historical data into a JORC-compliant resource, with the initial drilling targeting specific zones—namely Veins 2, 2II, 6 and 33. This marks the first drilling ever to be conducted on the Zopkhito project.
Major also provided updates on Krakatoa’s other projects. At the Stone Tank prospect within the Mt. Clere project in Western Australia, a deep-seated target is being drilled with support from the state's Exploration Incentive Scheme. One hole has already been completed, with the next expected to finish by month-end.
He added that further work is also planned for the company’s Sopito project.
