Artrya Ltd CEO and co-founder John Konstantopoulos talked with Proactive about the company's move into the US healthcare market with its Salix® Coronary Anatomy platform, an AI-powered tool designed to detect and assess heart disease risk with speed and accuracy.
Konstantopoulos explained that Salix® analyses coronary CT angiograms to detect high-risk soft plaque that often leads to heart attacks—something traditional diagnostics overlook. “We provide a full risk profile to the clinician or the patient within about eight minutes,” he said, noting the technology requires no human intervention.
The US commercial launch marks a significant transition for Artrya from product development to full-scale commercialisation. With an addressable market of 4.4 million CT scans annually in the US—versus just 130,000 in Australia—the company sees a US$4 billion opportunity. Initial integration with partner Tanner Health was successful and serves as a model for future rollouts with Northeast Georgia Health System and Cone Health.
Artrya is also awaiting FDA clearance for its coronary plaque module, which would unlock a US$950 reimbursement code per scan, and is preparing to submit its coronary flow module later this year.
