Nano One joins US lithium battery accelerator to bolster domestic supply chain

Nano One Materials Corp (TSX:NANO, OTC:NNOMF) has been selected to join the Arkansas Lithium Technology Accelerator (ALTA), a new US initiative aimed at strengthening the domestic battery supply chain and reducing dependence on foreign inputs.

Nano One is one of three companies chosen for ALTA’s inaugural cohort. The accelerator is supported by Standard Lithium, the Walton Family Foundation, and several Arkansas-based academic and government partners.

“Participating in ALTA positions Nano One as a strategic contributor to lithium-ion battery supply chain independence,” said Dan Blondal, CEO of Nano One.

Nano One’s proprietary One-Pot technology is designed to integrate precursor and cathode material production in a single step, reducing costs, permitting barriers, and environmental impacts. The company claims its process offers a localized solution for linking upstream lithium extraction to downstream cell manufacturing, particularly for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.

“Our One-Pot process eliminates chokepoints and reliance on foreign-controlled inputs,” Blondal added.

The company said its participation in ALTA reinforces its role as a national strategic asset, following recent funding of $12.9 million from the US Department of Defense to scale its operations in Québec. The facility in Candiac is advancing toward initial sales for defense and energy storage markets, while supporting licensing and joint ventures for broader commercial applications such as electric vehicles and AI data centers.

“We’re thrilled to have Nano One join the ALTA program,” said Arthur Orduña, executive director of The Venture Center. “Their One-Pot LFP technology represents the kind of breakthrough innovation that supports the national goal of reshoring supply chains.”

The company said its strategy aligns with emerging US policies, including the proposed One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), which seeks to tighten domestic content requirements and phase out incentives linked to foreign-sourced inputs. With cathode materials representing the most expensive component of a battery cell, Nano One believes its technology can play a critical role in enabling scalable, resilient, and cost-competitive domestic production.

Nano One also began trading on the US OTCQB market under the ticker symbol NNOMF on July 14.

Shares of the company surged on Tuesday's announcement, adding 21.7% just shy of US$0.70.
