Helix Exploration kicks off construction at Montana helium plant ahead of first production

Helix Exploration PLC (AIM:HEX, OTCQB:HHEXF) has begun construction work on its Rudyard helium plant in Montana, marking a key step towards production.

Civil engineering activities, including ground clearance and concrete pad preparation, are underway at the site.

The company expects delivery of the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) plant and membrane modules from Texas next month, with compressor units to follow shortly after. These components are crucial for separating helium from natural gas.

Helix aims to start helium production once equipment delivery, installation, and integration are complete. The site, on a 20-acre lease at Montana’s highest point, benefits from optimal drainage and layout.

Bo Sears, Helix’s chief executive, said: “We are now fully underway with construction at the Rudyard Plant site, another important step toward being the first helium producer in the State of Montana.

"With four production wells already drilled, a fifth in progress, and equipment mobilisation underway, Helix remains focused on delivering one of the most cost-effective and rapid developments in the North American helium sector."
