McGraw Hill eyes $4.2B valuation in IPO

McGraw Hill is targeting a $4.2 billion valuation in its upcoming initial public offering (IPO).

The educational publishing firm aims to raise up to $537 million by offering approximately 24.39 million shares priced between $19 and $22 each.

The company plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol "MH," with Goldman Sachs as the lead underwriter.

The IPO comes after the company was taken private in 2012 by Apollo Global Management for $2.5 billion and later acquired by Platinum Equity in 2021 for $4.5 billion.

The company intends to use the IPO proceeds to repay outstanding borrowings under its term loan credit facility.

McGraw Hill is a highly recognized leader in the publishing industry, with its products used by 99% of U.S. public K-12 school districts and 82% of U.S. higher education institutions, according to the company’s filings.
