Powerhouse Energy reveals 'significant uptick' in interest in its green energy technology

Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM:PHE), the AIM-listed company turning non-recyclable waste into low-carbon energy, said it had seen a "significant uptick in interest" following the completion of key technology milestones.

In a review of first-half progress ahead of the annual meeting, investors were told that the technical centre and feedstock testing unit (FTU) has become fully operational.

Engineering consulting arm Engsolve also completed a front-end engineering design project for National Hydrogen in Australia during the period.

The company also signed a letter of intent for hydrogen supply with BS Holdings Limited for a project in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

Powerhouse is exploring a collaboration with Avioxx to test whether its 2.5-tonne-per-day (TPD) unit can produce syngas suitable for sustainable aviation fuel.

Following a capital markets day (CMD) in March, the company reviewed over 25 potential opportunities, narrowing these down to 16 viable projects.

"We have seen a very significant uptick in interest following the completion of the FTU and our CMD, whilst also advancing our key projects," CEO Paul Emmitt said.

"It has also been particularly pleasing to see the excellent performance from Engsolve, which we expect to continue into the second half of the year.

The group raised £1.375 million to strengthen its finances, while Engsolve secured contracts exceeding £1 million in the first four months of 2025.

It also received additional patents in the US and Europe, protecting its technology. A land option agreement for a potential project in Longford expired, with no further resources or funding required.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Powerhouse plans to advance its pipeline of projects, including Ballymena, and to market its 2.5TPD waste gasification units as a standalone product.

The company also intends to increase its marketing efforts and establish agents on a no-win, no-fee basis to boost its global reach. Support for its partner Altec in Thailand will also be ramped up as they pursue new opportunities.
