Constellation Resources confirms large-scale natural hydrogen potential at Edmund-Collier in WA

Constellation Resources (ASX:CR1) has confirmed significant natural hydrogen potential at its Edmund-Collier Project in Western Australia — marking one of the first serious exploration pushes across a largely untapped hydrogen frontier.

Reprocessed seismic data and new geochemical results suggest the vast, 37,000 square kilometre basin contains the right ingredients for large-scale hydrogen generation, and this is based on favourable source rock quality and thermal maturity.

Deep regional faults like Godfrey and Talga, combined with organic-rich formations like Blue Billy and Discovery, offer strong potential for thermogenic hydrogen production — both of which have been supported by Total Organic Carbon values averaging 5.25%.

At the heart of the project also is the 4-kilometre-deep Wanna Syncline — an underexplored structure stretching over 300 kilometres, now identified as a potential new frontier for natural hydrogen exploration in Western Australia.

Porosity testing has also shown promise, with some zones hitting up to 32% — indicating possible hydrogen storage reservoirs across several formations.

Next up, Constellation plans to kick start a basin-wide soil gas survey to detect hydrogen and helium microseepage — and this will pave the way for deep drilling and permit conversion.

Constellation’s Edmund-Collier Project is shaping up as a compelling natural hydrogen opportunity — and a bold step into WA’s next energy frontier.
