Shares of Digi Power X Inc (NASDAQ:DGXX, TSX-V:DGX) surged 14.6% on Thursday after the energy infrastructure company announced a debt settlement agreement with NANO Nuclear Energy.

Under the agreement, Digi Power X will issue 109,677 subordinate voting shares at a deemed price of C$3.10 per share to NANO Nuclear in exchange for settling $250,000 in liabilities tied to consulting services.

The US government has lifted restrictions on exports of chip design software to China, sending shares of top sector players higher on Thursday morning.

The three leading chip design software players - Synopsys Inc (NASDAQ:SNPS, ETR:SYP), Cadence Design Systems Inc (NASDAQ:CDNS) and Siemens - were all notified by the US Commerce Department that the restrictions introduced in May have been rescinded.

Tripadvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP) shares added more than 16% after activist investor Starboard disclosed it has taken a 9% stake in the company, valued at about $160 million.

Per a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Starboard believes TripAdvisor's stock “were undervalued and represented an attractive investment opportunity.”

Xpontential Fitness (NYSE:XPOF) shares surged more than 21% before Thursday’s opening bell after it was revealed it has been cleared by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) following an 18-month investigation.

The company disclosed in a regulatory filing that the SEC wrapped up the probe without taking any enforcement action against the company, meaning that Xponential Fitness's financial practices and disclosures were found to be in compliance with regulatory standards.

Mkango Resources Ltd (AIM:MKA, TSX-V:MKA, OTC:MKNGF) saw its shares leap 46% after announcing a merger that will create a dedicated global rare earths company listed on Nasdaq.

The deal combines Mkango’s Songwe Hill project in Malawi and Pulawy separation plant in Poland under a new entity, Mkango Rare Earths Limited (MKAR).
