Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN)’s ongoing moving-loop ground electromagnetic (MLEM) geophysical survey at its Copper Hill Project is “progressing steadily with no delays”, the company said in a progress update on Thursday.
The survey — designed by Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGC), which reported the survey’s smooth progress, according to Surefire — aims to delineate and prioritise conductive anomalies linked to copper sulphide mineralisation, setting the stage for future drill testing at the project, in Western Australia’s Murchison region.

Survey progress and system details
The high-sensitivity SMARTem 24 system is being used for the survey, which spans 125 stations arranged along nine north–south lines. With receptor stations spaced 100 metres apart and survey lines 200 metres apart, the survey is progressing on schedule, with SGC confirming there have been no delays to date.

The company said it will continue to provide updates as the survey progresses and once the EM data has been interpreted, which will help pinpoint priority drilling targets.
Exploration targets at Copper Hill
The Copper Hill Project is located just 3 kilometres from Surefire’s Yidby Gold Project, where an ongoing reverse-circulation (RC) drilling program is targeting gold mineralisation.

At Copper Hill, the company is exploring for the source of highly anomalous copper and zinc results from 2024 soil sampling, alongside reports of copper sulphide, including native copper, from previous drill logs. This exploration is set against a geological backdrop that shares similarities with the Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits found at the nearby Golden Grove project.
The survey is an important step in the company’s strategy to identify and drill high-priority targets at Copper Hill, with the aim of building on promising historical results and unlocking the full potential of the project. Surefire anticipates that the EM data interpretation, once complete, will provide a clearer picture of the area's copper exploration potential.
