Titan Minerals expands Iguana gold-silver resource with promising trench results

Titan Minerals Ltd (ASX:TTM, OTC:TTTNF) has unveiled strong results from its ongoing exploration at the Iguana prospect, part of its Dynasty Gold Project in Peru. Recent trenching and mapping work has extended the mineralisation up to 800 metres from the defined resource, confirming further growth potential and setting the stage for an upcoming resource update.

The latest surface exploration efforts have uncovered high-grade intersections, significantly expanding the footprint of the Iguana prospect and boosting Titan’s ongoing resource expansion program.

Key trench results bolster Iguana’s potential

The newly completed trenching has returned significant gold (Au) and silver (Ag) values, confirming the extension of mineralisation into previously unexplored areas. Highlights include:

  • IGT24-040: 2.0 metres @ 5.0 g/t Au, 5.9 g/t Ag
  • IGT24-032: 3.4 metres @ 2.0 g/t Au, 10.0 g/t Ag
  • IGT24-036: 6.4 metres @ 1.4 g/t Au, 9.2 g/t Ag, within a broader intersection of 11.7 metres @ 1.0 g/t Au, 6.9 g/t Ag
  • IGT24-022: 2.0 metres @ 2.6 g/t Au, 5.1 g/t Ag

The trenching, carried out in areas 260 to 400 metres northeast of previous drillholes, has successfully extended the mineralised footprint at Iguana.

These results come on the back of prior diamond drilling that returned notable intersections, including 3.0 metres @ 4.9 g/t Au, 11.2 g/t Ag and 2.6 metres @ 3.5 g/t Au, 21.5 g/t Ag, further demonstrating the potential for resource expansion.

Expanding exploration with Cerro Verde and MMT survey

Titan’s ongoing efforts extend beyond Iguana, with further exploration at the Cerro Verde prospect. This area hosts the bulk of the Dynasty Gold Project's current 3.1-million-ounce (Moz) gold resource and is a key target for continued drilling and resource expansion.

The company has outlined compelling down-plunge targets and is advancing a 6,000-metre drilling campaign to test these areas, as well as conducting resource infill drilling to improve categorisation and support an updated resource estimate.

Titan is also expanding its exploration with a 920-line-kilometre Mobile Magneto-Telluric (MMT) geophysical survey across the Dynasty project. The survey, aimed at mapping subsurface resistivity anomalies, will help locate porphyry copper systems and further refine gold vein targets across the 9-kilometre-long epithermal gold corridor.

This technique will assist in targeting structures and veins that may host large-scale mineralisation. Results from the MMT survey are expected in three to four weeks.

Titan’s continued commitment to growth

Titan CEO Melanie Leighton said the latest results from the Iguana prospect reward the company’s continued exploration efforts.

“Exploration mapping and trenching has also been advancing at the Cerro Verde prospect, with trench results in new areas expected to be delivered in the coming week,” she added. "We are committed to growing the Dynasty 3.1Moz gold and 22Moz silver resource in a two-pronged approach, by drilling depth extensions in the best parts of the system; and by defining shallow mineralisation in new areas from surface."

Next steps and future outlook

Titan is prioritising resource growth through both depth extensions and surface mineralisation at its Dynasty Gold Project. While drilling continues at Cerro Verde and Iguana, the company also anticipates further trenching results and geophysical data to add additional targets for future drilling campaigns.

The Dynasty Gold Project, with its extensive mineralised zone and strong epithermal gold and porphyry copper potential, remains a focus for Titan as it continues its push toward a significant resource update. With a combination of trenching, geophysical surveys, and drilling, Titan aims to unlock further value from the Dynasty project in the coming months.

The company said it will report additional exploration and resource drilling updates as results from these extensive programs are received.
