Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX:RML, OTC:RLMLF) is gearing up to kick off its maiden exploration program at the Horse Heaven Gold, Antimony, Silver, and Tungsten Project in Idaho, USA, with work set to begin this month.
The project, located in the historically significant Stibnite Mining District, is strategically positioned adjacent to Perpetua Resources’ $2 billion Stibnite Gold Mine, offering exciting exploration potential.

The program will involve a combination of surface mapping, sampling and geophysical techniques to refine high-priority drill targets. Resolution is pushing ahead with exploration activities ahead of completing the formal acquisition of Horse Heaven, which is anticipated for late July 2025, following a shareholder vote. This early-stage exploration lays the groundwork for drilling that is scheduled to commence in August.
Key objectives for upcoming exploration program
The primary goal of this exploration program is to assess the surface mineralisation at two key target areas: the Golden Gate Fault Zone and the Antimony Ridge Fault Zone. Both zones remain open-ended, and the results will provide critical data to guide drilling plans for the upcoming phase.

At the Golden Gate Fault Zone, Resolution plans to expand geological knowledge through extensive mapping and sampling to identify extensions of mineralisation both to the north and south of historic drilling areas.
The exploration team will also carry out initial assessments at the Vibeka Creek target area, immediately east of Golden Gate, as well as Antimony Creek to further refine drill site locations for the anticipated August drill campaign.
Historical significance and strategic importance
The Horse Heaven Project holds a rich historical legacy, with antimony production dating back to World War I and World War II, underscoring its strategic value as a potential source of military-grade antimony. The US is currently reliant on imports for its antimony supply, making projects like Horse Heaven increasingly important for national security and resource security.
Tungsten was also produced sporadically at Horse Heaven from the 1950s to the 1980s, adding further value to the project’s multi-metal potential.
Resolution aims to leverage modern exploration techniques, including reverse circulation (RC) and diamond core drilling, as well as soil geochemistry and geophysics, to significantly expand the project’s resource base.
Expanding resource potential with modern technology
Resolution's exploration will focus on confirming historical data and assessing previously worked areas to gain a clearer understanding of the broader geological footprint at Horse Heaven.
The project’s proximity to Perpetua Resources’ Stibnite Gold Mine adds to its allure, with the Golden Gate and Antimony Ridge zones showing strong geological analogies to the neighbouring deposit.
“This maiden exploration program represents a key step forward in progressing our flagship US-focused critical metals development strategy,” said Craig Lindsay, CEO-elect of US operations at Resolution. “The Horse Heaven Project boasts a strong historical production legacy, is well-located adjacent to the US$2.2B Stibnite Mine development and represents significant blue-sky potential for investors.”
With work set to commence in early July and drilling slated for August 2025, the results from this campaign will be integral to shaping the future direction of the project and its role in addressing the US’s strategic resource needs.
