OTC Markets Group Inc. (OTCQX:OTCM) has launched the OTCID Basic Market, a structural upgrade aimed at increasing transparency and disclosure standards in the over-the-counter (OTC) equities space.
The launch of the OTCID Basic Market eliminates the previous Pink Current Market tier and introduces a new framework that requires companies to provide consistent and ongoing reporting.
The initiative is designed to support companies that seek to engage with US investors through enhanced transparency.
Under the new market structure, companies listed on the OTCID Basic Market must meet specific disclosure requirements, including timely publication of quarterly and annual financial reports, management certifications, and up-to-date company profile information.
According to OTC Markets Group, the new requirements are intended to provide investors, brokers, regulators, and data providers with reliable and timely information, and to support a more structured and transparent OTC market environment.
